How does a journal negotiate the pressures of the contemporary nonfiction environment – genre-blending, fact versus opinion, print versus online approaches to nonfiction, experimental projects and forms? What is the relationship of nonfiction to rest of the publication – the fiction and poetry, for example? Overland’s editor Jacinda Woodhead will chair a special event with Sam Cooney, Björn Larsson and Guðmundur Andri Thorsson, as they explore how a journal balances its stength and voice in the world with its desire for a clear perspective and a diversity of writers.
