Vale Nita Murray-Smith

Nita Murray-Smith died last Saturday. She was a staunch but critical supporter of Overland. After her husband, Stephen Murray-Smith, founded the magazine in 1954, she served as its secretary for 34 years, and after his death facilitated the transfer of its publication to an independent company whose board she joined. The present board and the staff join in gratitude for her life and sympathy to her family.

Overland is a not-for-profit magazine with a proud history of supporting writers, and publishing ideas and voices often excluded from other places.
