My article calling for a publicly funded newspaper (an argument I’ve rehearsed here before) is now up at New Matilda.

  1. Something that came up last year in my journalism class was that perhaps newspapers need to consider changing their model, i.e. towards something more like the Guardian Weekly — less a source of immediate breaking news and providing more analysis/investigative journalism. (And hopefully keep reviews etc.)

    I suppose the issue would be convincing people to invest in something like that, though… and making it significantly different from what a Saturday paper offers now.
