BJ Thomason has a Bachelor of Arts (Writing) from ECU, a Master of Arts in Writing from Swinburne University, and a PhD from Deakin University. She has won places in several short story and poetry competitions and was highly commended in the national KSP short fiction and science fiction awards twice. She holds a Deakin University publication scholarship from the Faculty of Arts and Education.
