Published 19 August 200919 August 2009 · Main Posts Overland on Late Night Live on Thursday Jeff Sparrow Overland 196 features an interview with Thomas Shepherd, a man who spent two decades as an undercover informer inside the Communist Party of Australia and the Socialist Workers Party in the 1970s. This Thursday, he talks with Phillip Adams on Late Night Live about living a double life and its consequences. The new issue of Overland will be officially launched after a panel discussion at the Melbourne Writers Festival between British SF author China Mieville and Overland contributors Margo Lanagan and Jack Dann, hosted by Overland‘s Rjurik Davidson. It’s on Saturday 22 August at 2.30 pm at ACMI 2 in Federation Square. Note, though, that because it’s a MWF event there is a charge for entry. Jeff Sparrow Jeff Sparrow is a writer, editor, broadcaster and Walkley award-winning journalist. He is a former columnist for Guardian Australia, a former Breakfaster at radio station 3RRR, and a past editor of Overland. His most recent book is a collaboration with Sam Wallman called Twelve Rules for Strife (Scribe). He works at the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne.
