Welcome to the new magazine

Welcome to the new Overland.

This new site consolidates Overland’s digital content into an online magazine: a regularly updated complement to the quarterly print journal.

Online, Overland will feature regular writing by authors associated with the journal, while making room for new and emerging writers. The site will be a place for debates, for polemics and for reviews, a page continuing Overland’s longstanding scrutiny of the intersection between politics and culture.

The online magazine aims to open a dialogue. There ars many ways to join in. If you’re a writer, we’re now looking for articles both for the online and print formats. If you simply like great reading, you can sign up for regular bulletins or follow Overland on Twitter or Facebook.

Most of all, if you enjoy what’s here, please consider taking out a subscription to the print journal. Overland depends on its subscribers. For as little as $45, you’ll receive over 300 000 words of quality reading each year, delivered direct to your door. And you’ll know you are doing your bit to keep the Overland project growing.

Overland is a not-for-profit magazine with a proud history of supporting writers, and publishing ideas and voices often excluded from other places.

If you like this piece, or support Overland’s work in general, please subscribe or donate.
