2Radio made the poetry star… and tomorrow (Wed September 2) from midday till 2pm Melbourne time, Aural Text’s Steve Grimwade and Alecia Sometimes will be chatting with Overload Poetry Festival Director James Waller and Melbourne poet and Overland blogger Maxine Clarke about the Overload Poetry Festival, the Overload All-Stars event and the Overland Overloaded blog collaboration.

The Overload All-Stars event is on at Northcote Social Club on Wednesday September 9, and will also feature the amazing Ali Cobby Eckermann, the unbeatable wordplay of Geoff Lemon and the soulful poetry of Lewis Scott.

Maxine Beneba Clarke

Maxine Beneba Clarke is an Australian author and slam poet of Afro- Caribbean descent. Her short fiction collection Foreign Soil won the 2015 ABIA Award for Best Literary Fiction and the 2015 Indie Award for Best Debut Fiction, and was shortlisted for the Stella Prize. Her memoir, The Hate Race, her poetry collection Carrying the World, and her first children’s book, The Patchwork Bike, will be published by Hachette in late 2016.
